How to customize your newsletter template

Learn how to personalize your template to fit your needs.

You might want to change the default template that’s configured on your account in order to generate newsletter that match the structure you like most.

To customize your template, simply hit the “Template” button in the left-side menu. If you’re already creating a newsletter, you can also click the ‘Edit Template’ button at the top of your template.

💡

If you already added stories to your template as you try to modify it, you will lose those stories and will have to start over again once you change your template.

Customizing your template

📽 Self-uploaded videos are not supported yet but they are coming soon 👀 Please use a third party video provider such as Youtube, Wistia or Vimeo in the meantime.

Once you are in the ‘Customize Your Template’ section, you add a new section to your newsletter structure. Just hit the ‘Add New Section’ button.

You will be prompted to choose between 4 different types of blocks:

  • News You Can’t Miss: each news you add in this section will be treated as a single bulletpoint + ‘read more’ link (if available)
  • Quick Bites: each news you add in this section will contain a headline and a couple of sentences + ‘read more’ link (if available)
  • Spotlight: the news story (max. 1) you add here will contain a title, image, and 1 or 2 paragraphs to cover the topic
  • Feature Story: the news story (max. 1) you add here will contain a title, image, 3-5 paragraphs and a TLDR, section. It’s our most detailed, long-form format.

You’ll notice some options are enabled or disabled depending on the format you choose to add.
